Check what the battle risks
Read the mode rules before committing troops or supplies. A tournament and a map encounter should not be assumed to have identical losses, registration requirements or rewards. Identify what you stand to lose before using a formation copied from another mode.
Inspect the opponent arrangement
Independent Champion Duel guides from Z Tools and LastZ.GG emphasize checking formation order and faction matchups rather than judging only the total Power shown. Use that as a reason to inspect the actual teams, not a promise that one fixed order counters every opponent.
Check the equipment assigned to the squad
Read the current squad and equipment descriptions and confirm the intended setup is actually selected. If a bonus depends on a particular troop or faction, inspect that condition before assuming it is contributing to the fight.
Review after a round
Identify which squad failed and what the opponent fielded. If the event allows changes between fights, inspect the current editing window before adjusting. Do not rely on an old community timer when the live event is already locked.
Keep the evidence level clear
These matchup observations come from named community guides and have not been presented as a publisher-verified formula. Exact faction bonuses, troop ratios and loss rules should be checked in the current mode. No formation here is advertised as a guaranteed win.
