7 Days to Die Base Defense: Inspect Routes, Repairs & World Rules
Start with the current world rules
The Fun Pimps' V3.0 announcement describes extensive sandbox options, including the ability to turn zombie digging off. Do not assume a base demonstrated under one preset behaves identically under another. Check the active options before copying the design.
Walk the approach yourself
Inspect how you reach the fighting position, repair the important area and leave after a breach. Identify any route that puts you directly in the same space as the attackers. A structure is easier to maintain when those jobs have been considered before the fight.
Protect the point you rely on
Choose where you expect to fight and keep necessary supplies reachable. Do not spend every material on expanding the footprint while the intended defensive position remains unfinished. Consider what happens if that position becomes unusable.
Keep a fallback that is actually accessible
Test the exit and the alternative position before they are needed. Avoid calling a route an escape plan if it is blocked by your own construction or requires an action you have not practiced under pressure.
Repair the demonstrated weakness
After an attack, inspect the damage and the path enemies used. Improve that issue before redesigning everything. This guide does not promise an invulnerable corridor, a permanent AI exploit or a specific block configuration that works under every difficulty and update.
