Keep Story Mode separate from Online
This page is for Arthur's Story Mode economy. Red Dead Online roles, Gold rewards and temporary multiplayer bonuses are different systems. Match a money guide to the mode before copying its activity or payout assumptions.
Use ordinary income between bigger goals
Shacknews identifies hunting and fishing as ways to earn smaller amounts, with treasure hunts offering larger rewards. Choose an activity that fits your available route and progress. Avoid an expensive detour merely to follow a supposed fastest-farm claim.
Treat treasure maps as a route, not a respawn exploit
Both GamesRadar and Shacknews describe treasure rewards that include Gold Bars sold through a Fence. Follow the actual map chain you have access to rather than assuming a discovered reward can be duplicated indefinitely or is available in every chapter.
Prioritize a purchase you will use
Compare the next weapon, supplies or camp improvement with the problem it solves. Keep enough money for ordinary needs before buying several cosmetic or redundant options. A new purchase is most useful when it makes the next part of the journey easier.
Check edition bonuses separately
Rockstar's special-edition announcement includes extra cash-related benefits. Those bonuses are not proof of the normal payout in every copy of the game. This guide does not advertise an old duplication glitch, promise a fixed hourly income or assume a preorder reward can still be claimed.
