VALORANT Crosshair Codes Guide: Import, Export & Crosshair Profiles
VALORANT includes an official system for importing and exporting crosshair settings through generated codes. Riot added the feature so players can share Crosshair Profiles without manually copying every individual setting.
What a Crosshair Code Does
A crosshair code stores the settings for a crosshair profile in a shareable format.
It allows another player to import the same configuration directly into VALORANT.
How to Export a Crosshair
Riot's official instructions are:
- Open Settings.
- Open the Crosshair tab.
- Find the Crosshair Profile controls.
- Select the export icon, shown as an upward-pointing arrow.
- The game copies the generated code to the clipboard.
Share the Code
Once exported, the code can be pasted into:
- A message.
- A note.
- A team chat outside the match.
- Another place where you save settings.
How to Import a Crosshair Code
Riot's official import process is:
- Open Settings.
- Open the Crosshair tab.
- Select the import icon, shown as a downward-pointing arrow.
- Paste the crosshair code.
- Select Import.
Check the Preview
Riot states that the Crosshair Settings preview should update after importing the profile.
Verify the preview before assuming the import failed.
Name the Profile
Riot recommends giving imported profiles a unique name.
This makes it easier to switch between several crosshairs later.
Crosshair Profiles
Profiles allow you to store more than one crosshair configuration.
This is useful when comparing:
- A small crosshair.
- A larger crosshair.
- Different outlines.
- Different center-dot settings.
A Code Is Not Automatically a Better Crosshair
A famous player's code reproduces their settings, but it does not reproduce their aim habits, monitor, resolution or visual preferences.
Test Visibility
A useful crosshair should remain visible against different environments without covering more of the target than necessary.
Test Placement
Crosshair design matters less if the crosshair is consistently held at poor height or far away from likely enemy positions.
Crosshair Placement Fundamentals
Use the crosshair as part of an aiming routine:
- Keep it near likely enemy head height.
- Pre-position it near expected angles.
- Avoid dragging it across large distances unnecessarily.
Do Not Change Settings Every Match
Changing the crosshair repeatedly makes it difficult to determine whether a configuration actually helps.
Compare Profiles Deliberately
If you want to test two codes:
- Save both as separate profiles.
- Use each for multiple practice sessions.
- Pay attention to visibility and precision.
- Keep the one that feels more consistent.
Import Problems
If a code does not import:
- Make sure the complete code was copied.
- Remove accidental extra text.
- Paste it into the official import field.
- Check whether the profile preview changes.
Code Safety
Crosshair codes are configuration strings.
You do not need to install software or provide account credentials merely to import a crosshair.
Avoid Suspicious Downloads
If a website claims you need an executable program just to use a VALORANT crosshair code, do not treat that as Riot's normal import process.
Good Crosshair Priorities
- Easy to see.
- Does not cover the target excessively.
- Comfortable at your resolution.
- Consistent enough to keep using.
Bottom Line
VALORANT's crosshair-code system is built directly into the game. Export your profile from the Crosshair settings, import another player's code through the matching import control, name the profile and test it long enough to decide whether it actually improves your visibility and placement.
