The Blood of Dawnwalker Skill Trees and Vampire Powers Guide
# The Blood of Dawnwalker Skill Trees Guide
Coen's progression is built around three distinct ability paths: Swordmastery, Witchcraft and Vampirism. The available approaches differ between day and night, giving players meaningful choices when allocating progression resources.
## Swordmastery
Swordmastery develops Coen's physical combat techniques.
The official developer explanation identifies defensive resilience and offensive combinations as potential specializations.
Because sword techniques matter during both day and night, investing in this path can support a range of character builds.
Improving Swordmastery requires more than earning levels. Players must discover training manuals left in the world or purchase them from appropriate instructors.
## Witchcraft
Witchcraft is a daytime discipline taught to Coen by Anca.
It includes offensive and defensive magic, crowd control, damage-over-time effects, buffs and debuffs.
These effects support different approaches to combat. A player interested in managing groups of enemies may value control effects, while another may prefer direct offensive magic.
The developer identifies ancient ruins, haunted locations and magical practitioners as possible sources of manuals needed for further Witchcraft progression.
## Vampirism
Vampiric powers become available at night.
These supernatural abilities are connected to Coen's corruption and can consume resources such as health.
Increasing corruption through feeding on blood unlocks access to increasingly powerful Vampirism abilities.
This creates a tradeoff: stronger supernatural capabilities can come with meaningful costs.
Do not assume every vampiric power works without restrictions. The official developer information emphasizes sacrifice and resource management.
## Experience and Skill Points
Coen earns experience from defeating enemies, completing objectives, discovering locations and overcoming special encounters.
Leveling provides skill points.
Importantly, the three skill trees share a common experience and skill-point system.
Points earned during daytime exploration can therefore be used for nighttime Vampirism abilities.
That shared resource makes planning important. Investments in one tree affect how many points remain available for others.
## Manuals, Training and Time
Skill points alone do not unlock every improvement.
Certain skills require manuals, training, or time spent developing knowledge.
Swordmastery manuals may come from soldiers, bandits or fencers. Witchcraft manuals can be found through exploration or magical practitioners.
Vampirism progression is linked more directly to corruption.
## Building a Character
A balanced approach can combine Swordmastery with one of the supernatural disciplines.
A sword-focused approach emphasizes reliable combat fundamentals.
A magic-focused approach can prioritize daytime offensive and defensive spells.
A vampiric approach places greater emphasis on nighttime powers and their associated costs.
These are possible build directions, not officially ranked strongest builds.
