Use Rocket League Free Play settings and Custom Training to practise one repeatable action, then test it in normal matches.
Rocket League Training Guide: Free Play, Packs & Match Transfer
Turn Rocket League Training into a Repeatable Drill
Free Play is useful for repeated touches, recoveries and testing your controls without a live opponent. Custom Training provides repeatable situations. Epic's official Crash Course recommends both Free Play warmups and community-created or player-built Custom Training drills.
Set up Free Play deliberately
Epic documents Free Play ball-control bindings under Settings, Controls, View/Change Bindings. While in Free Play, the Training settings also include game speed from 50 to 100 percent and boost options such as Unlimited, Standard and Auto-Refill. These are practice settings; do not mistake unlimited training boost for normal match resources.
Use one target for a short session
The routine below is GetCheatBeacon's practice recommendation, not an official rank requirement. Pick one action you often miss in matches: a ground shot from an angle, a controlled first touch, or landing ready to move after an aerial. Repeat it until you can explain what changed between a clean attempt and a miss.
- Start slowly enough to place the car deliberately.
- Repeat the same setup before adding extra speed.
- Change the approach angle rather than memorizing only one straight-line contact.
- Finish with normal speed and normal boost constraints where appropriate.
Choose packs for a problem, not a badge
A difficult pack is not automatically the most useful pack. If basic contact is inconsistent, a simpler setup gives more meaningful repetitions. Use a harder sequence when it tests the next part of the same action rather than replacing the whole task. This guide does not endorse an untested pack code or promise a rank from completing a checklist.
Check transfer to matches
After playing, save a replay and look for a moment where the trained action was available. Did you recognize it, arrive in time and choose the correct touch? If you never reached the situation, positioning may need attention before another hour of mechanical repetition.
