UFC 5 Stamina Guide: Current Energy, Maximum Stamina & Pacing

In UFC 5, a briefly empty stamina bar and a reduced maximum are different problems. Read the limit behind the current bar before deciding that one pause will restore all your energy.

Understand the two bars

EA describes Maximum Stamina as the light-gray bar behind Current Stamina. Actions reduce the current amount, and recovery cannot exceed the remaining maximum. Between rounds, the amount of maximum stamina regained depends on the fighter's Cardio attribute.

Create a recovery opportunity

EA's recovery lesson says inactivity and distance help stamina return. After an exchange, first make room to defend rather than continuing to attack simply because the opponent remains close. A pause only helps if you can survive it.

Compare the cost of your usual exchange

  1. Use the same fighter and range for the test.
  2. Throw the short sequence you normally attempt.
  3. Watch the current bar after it ends and while you recover.
  4. Repeat with fewer attacks and compare the position you finish in.

Do not measure the exchange only by damage dealt. Also check whether you can defend the return attack or takedown without immediately spending the last of your energy.

Recognize when pressure is no longer useful

If the opponent is outside your effective range, close the distance deliberately or let the exchange end. Repeating an attack because it nearly connected can turn a missed opportunity into a longer sequence of poor decisions. Choose a new opening instead of trying to repay the previous miss at once.

Plan for later rounds

Watch how much of the maximum remains as well as who won the last exchange. A small early damage advantage may be expensive if maintaining it repeatedly leaves you depleted. Adjust the pace to the fighter and matchup rather than expecting identical recovery from every roster choice.

The bar behavior and recovery facts come from EA's stamina tutorials. The exchange test above is a practice method, not a hidden stamina formula or a claim that any fixed combo is optimal.
