Choose your career path
2K confirms five historical MyCAREER Eras: Magic vs. Bird (1984), Jordan (1991), Kobe (2003), LeBron (2010) and Steph (2016). The modern Fire & Concrete story spans high school, the G League and the NBA. Draft performance can affect your position, with manual team selection also available.
How co-op fits the career
Running Mate Trace Miller is introduced in the G League. A friend who owns NBA 2K27 can control him in co-op; AI controls him when a friend is unavailable. Co-op can be chosen game by game, and both players receive their own VC and Season XP. Online connection, account and applicable console subscription requirements still apply.
Plan your role before upgrading
Our recommendation is to name your main job first: create shots, finish, defend the perimeter, or protect the paint. Compare a custom build with the presets available in your current builder, then practice the actions your role needs. A famous player comparison is inspiration rather than proof that the build suits your habits.

Build choices versus appearance
2K’s mode breakdown states that height, weight, wingspan and ratings are determined by the build rather than appearance. Use the attribute and requirement screens to check an intended role. Do not assume a visual change supplies an attribute upgrade.
