Use an Invite Only session for a controlled start

An Invite Only session helps you choose who shares your Freemode lobby. It is still online play, and it does not make every activity a single-player mission.

Rockstar’s documented route

The support instructions start from Story Mode: open the Pause Menu, select Online, choose Find New Session, then Invite Only Session. Confirm the transition when prompted. Available entry points can vary with your version and whether you own Story Mode; follow the session choices your client actually shows.

Can you sell business stock privately?

Rockstar’s July 2022 update permits business activities, including Sell Missions, in private Invite Only sessions. Public-session rewards and competition are separate considerations. Check the current business screen before planning a particular operation.

Prepare a solo operation

1. Confirm the active character and session type.
2. Register for the role required by the business or job.
3. Read its player requirement, route and objective.
4. Prepare the vehicle and equipment you need.
5. Leave enough time to complete the mission rather than switching activities halfway through.

These are our planning recommendations. Private-session access does not reduce a mission’s driving demands or automatically complete a setup requirement.

If your character does not appear

Rockstar has a support article for characters failing to load when directly entering private sessions on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Its workaround is to enter Freemode or use the Story Mode Character Wheel first, then move to a private session. If prompted to create a new character unexpectedly, check that guidance before overwriting anything.

Check the activity, not just the lobby

A mission may load a separate job lobby and impose its own player rules. Look at those requirements before assuming that a private Freemode session makes it playable alone. See the money guide for a confirmed solo-capable example and the business guide for purchase planning.
