Identify which progression system is blocking you
Ubisoft distinguishes Mastery points used in character-specific trees from Knowledge ranks that make further skills available. Check the locked node before earning more of the wrong resource. A point shortage and an unmet unlock condition are different problems.
Develop the style you actually use
Naoe and Yasuke have distinct weapon and archetype trees, while their level, experience, Mastery points and Knowledge progression are shared. Choose the tree that supports the character and actions you are currently practicing rather than assuming both protagonists need the same unlock sequence.
Use Knowledge activities for the relevant gate
The official progression explanation lists activities including shrine prayers and Lost Pages, alongside character-specific meditation or kata. When a Knowledge gate is the obstacle, mix those activities into exploration instead of repeating combat solely for more levels.
Check your equipment at the Forge
Ubisoft identifies the Hideout Forge as a place for equipment upgrading and engraving. Compare the current equipment level and useful effects with the intended upgrade. Save materials for a piece that supports your play rather than improving every new item automatically.
Reassess before starting over
The publisher explains Mastery points can be reset. Use that option when the selected skills do not suit the approach you want to practice. Check current descriptions for requirements and costs; this page does not prescribe one endgame build or treat a launch-era numeric value as permanent.
