Warzone Beginner Checklist: Settings, Landing & Your First Matches

Start by choosing the right playlist

Warzone offers Battle Royale, Resurgence and other rotating modes. Black Ops Royale is a distinct scavenging mode without standard loadouts, Gulag or Buy Stations. Check the selected rules before planning purchases or waiting for a familiar respawn system.

Before you queue

  • Check the controls you need for armour, inventory, pinging and map access in your selected layout.
  • Choose a squad communication method you can use comfortably.
  • For a loadout-supported mode, prepare a familiar weapon pairing rather than a build you cannot yet access.
  • Decide whether the session is for learning a map, practising fights or completing a specific objective.

These are GetCheatBeacon preparation recommendations. There is no single sensitivity number or controller layout that suits every player.

For the first landing

Ping one destination, note who is landing nearby and choose an exit before committing to a building. Obtain a usable weapon and check defensive supplies. If the squad is split, regroup rather than each player beginning an unrelated fight.

Before crossing an exposed area

  1. Check the circle and the time available.
  2. Identify the next piece of cover.
  3. Consider whether an opponent already controls the crossing.
  4. Move while the squad can support the route.

Use the HUD to understand death

Read the current return or elimination state instead of assuming every playlist has the same options. In Resurgence, the living squad member's survival matters while returns remain active. In another mode, your recovery plan may be different.

Finish with one lesson

Record one avoidable mistake: late movement, poor cover, separation or unfamiliar controls. Adjust that before changing all your settings. Several purposeful matches can teach more than repeatedly swapping weapons after every defeat.

Next steps: build testing, Resurgence and spending Cash. Current playlists can change, so verify the selection each session.
