Sparking ZERO Practice Routine: Controls, Defense & Resource Tests
Use a single character and confirm whether your settings use Standard or Classic controls. Bandai Namco's beginner guide documents both schemes; the same written button instruction should not be assumed to fit both.
Learn one movement sequence
Start at a fixed distance, approach, stop at useful range and defend. Repeat with a change of height. Compare the resources remaining after each route so that movement practice also teaches what you can afford afterward.
Separate offensive execution from timing
Choose a short attack sequence from the character's current training instructions. First reproduce it without pressure, then test it after the opening you intend to use in a match. A successful sequence against an inactive opponent does not prove it works after every starter.
Practice defense against a known action
Use the training lesson for the defensive mechanic you are learning. Start with a predictable attack and concentrate on the cue and result. Add an alternative approach only after you can perform the response consistently. Check the on-screen instruction for your control scheme rather than borrowing a Classic or Standard input from an unrelated video.
Test realistic resources
- Repeat the approach with less Ki.
- Check whether the skill you planned is available with the displayed Skill Stocks.
- Practice a shorter follow-up when the preferred action is unavailable.
- Compare the result after switching to the other team member you actually use.
Recheck after a system update
The July 2026 publisher notes added Linked Blast and Sparking! Boost; later September notes adjusted CPU behavior. Keep your practice version and platform in mind, particularly when comparing CPU drills or an older tutorial. Use the current in-game explanation for the exact activation.
Finish with a short set focused on the one response you practiced. Record the first failure you can identify and return to that interaction. This routine is a training plan, not a claim that an untested character combo is guaranteed.
