Choose the missing component
Start with a modification or construction project you intend to finish. Read its missing materials and decide which component is the bottleneck. Collecting every object indiscriminately can leave you overburdened while still lacking the specific part required.
Use Tag For Search
The GamesRadar mechanics guide describes tagging a required crafting resource, after which relevant junk receives a magnifying-glass indicator when highlighted. Use the indicator to identify useful pickups rather than relying on the everyday name of an object to reveal its components.
Compare value with carrying cost
Before taking another heavy weapon, ask whether you intend to use, sell or scrap it for a concrete need. Keep useful ammunition, recovery and the components blocking your next upgrade accessible. A large inventory is not automatically useful progress.
Use companion carrying deliberately
The same guide documents transferring items through a companion's Trade menu. Check what you are handing over and what you need to keep on your character. Do not turn the companion into the only place you keep something essential for the next action.
Inspect a scrap confirmation
Read what an operation will remove and what it returns before accepting. Protect items you actually want to keep rather than trusting their familiar appearance. This guide uses independent reporting for the interface tips and does not promise unlimited storage, automatic safe scrapping or identical behavior under every mod.
