Read the formation roles
Century Games places Infantry in front, Cavalry in the middle and Archers in back. Its Combat FAQ describes the front row as the usual first target, while skills can alter targeting. Build the force around the job each row needs to do rather than copying one ratio for every encounter.
Protect the damage plan
Check whether the formation has enough support for the units expected to deal damage. If the front collapses immediately, simply adding more back-row damage may not solve the cause. Compare the report with what happened to each part of the formation.
Check battle-specific losses
The publisher distinguishes casualty outcomes by battle type. Read the risk and your Infirmary situation before attacking a town or joining a contested objective. Do not assume every defeat means the same recoverable injuries or that remaining capacity is irrelevant.
Coordinate rally participation
Century Games explains that rally and garrison battles use additional participating hero skills and differ from a solo battle. Ask the organizer which hero and troop contribution is wanted. A strong solo setup is not automatically the correct contribution to every coordinated action.
Review the report before repeating
Identify whether the problem was formation, the selected skills, missing support or a battle you could not afford to lose. This guide avoids a universal troop ratio, guaranteed casualty percentage for all modes and unsupported claims that Power alone determines the winner.
