Start with what the team must accomplish: enter useful space, sustain the fight and convert an opening into a result. Choose heroes that can perform those jobs together rather than selecting from an old universal composition rule.
Read the current Team-Up system
The official Season 9 notes document a major Team-Up revamp, and later balance posts continue changing specific partnerships. Check the current selection screen and ability description. An older pair's bonus should not be assumed to survive unchanged.
Cover different jobs
Inspect who can lead the approach, who can support that position and who can threaten the targets the first two expose. Multiple heroes can contribute to each task, but the plan should explain how the group reaches and holds the objective.
Choose a Team-Up for a usable interaction
Identify what the partnership adds and which player must act to use it. Practice that interaction in the range or a low-pressure setting. A selection-screen bonus is less valuable if nobody recognizes its opportunity during the fight.
Keep a playable alternative
Have a familiar choice for a role the team lacks or a hero that becomes unavailable. Swapping to an unfamiliar character solely for a theoretical composition can weaken the execution of the actual plan.
Adjust after observing the gap
- Identify what stops the team: entry, sustain, range or follow-up.
- Choose a change that addresses that job.
- Explain the intended interaction briefly.
- Judge the next fight by whether the gap improved.
This guide does not prescribe a fixed ranked role ratio or copy a dated Team-Up roster as current fact. Use the active game's rules and current partnerships.
