COD Mobile Sensitivity & Controls: Practical Tuning Guide
COD Mobile sensitivity: tune the action that feels wrong
A useful sensitivity setup lets you turn, track and make small corrections comfortably on your own device. This guide gives you a repeatable testing routine rather than a universal set of numbers.
Set your controls before tuning sensitivity
Activision’s COD Mobile controls guide describes Simple and Advanced firing, Custom Layout for button position, size and opacity, sensitivity presets and sliders, and gyroscope options. It was published in 2019, so check your current client’s labels and available options rather than copying its old screenshots or ranges.
Our setup advice: settle on your grip and reachable button positions first. Test movement, aiming, firing, reloading and weapon switching without stretching across the display. Changing the layout while tuning aim can make it harder to identify the cause of a missed input.
Run three separate aiming checks
The following drills are GetCheatBeacon’s practice routine. Use the same weapon, optic and distance for each comparison:
- Turning: look away from a visible landmark and turn back. If normal camera movement consistently goes too far or stops short, test the relevant look setting.
- Aimed corrections: aim at a small target and move slightly left and right. Test the setting used for that aiming or optic state, rather than changing every scope at once.
- Tracking while firing: follow a moving target or opponent while shooting. Compare it with tracking without firing to identify whether the difficulty is turning, recoil control or the firing input.
Change one option, repeat the same drill, and keep a note of the previous value. Once it feels comfortable, test it in a normal match before making another change.
Introduce gyroscope control gradually
The official controls guide describes device-motion aiming and a while-aiming option. If you choose to use it, first test small motions with a stable grip, then combine them with touch input. Compare the result with your prior setup. Gyroscope use is a preference, not a requirement for improvement.
Check performance before blaming sensitivity
Activision’s performance support recommends stable Wi-Fi, current app and system versions, closing background apps and restarting the device. If aiming suddenly feels inconsistent, check whether the match is also stuttering or lagging before changing all your values.
For our comparisons, keep graphics and frame-rate choices stable and test in similar conditions. A setup that feels good for one player on one screen does not establish the best values for every phone or tablet.
Using a controller?
Activision supports controllers during Multiplayer and Battle Royale matches. Menus, lobbies and loadouts still use the device’s native controls. Test your own input method rather than copying a touch-player layout.
Move from settings to match preparation
