ARC Raiders Beginner Guide: Solo Play, Loot & Extraction
Your objective is to return with what you find
ARC Raiders is an online multiplayer extraction adventure. You explore Topside, collect resources and return to Speranza while facing machines and other Raiders. Solo play is supported alongside teams of two or three; solo does not mean an offline campaign.
Plan a small first run
GetCheatBeacon recommends choosing one learning objective before entering: recognize a landmark, investigate a quest location or learn a route back. An unfamiliar map is easier to understand when you are not trying to complete several tasks at once.
- Read your selected objective and check the equipment you intend to bring.
- Identify the route you will use and a reason to turn back.
- After finding useful loot, reassess whether another fight serves the objective.
- After returning, separate items you want to keep from items you are comfortable selling.
Think about the noise of a fight
The official PlayStation overview warns that combat noise can attract other Raiders. Winning against a machine can therefore be only part of the encounter. Before committing, consider the cover around you and where another player could approach.
GetCheatBeacon advice: use the same familiar area for several early runs. Record where you were surprised and which route let you disengage. Treat an unsuccessful run as route information rather than proof that a more expensive loadout would have solved it.
Check current controls
Frozen Trail changed the default gamepad mapping. Read the current in-game prompts and your bindings rather than copying an older controller diagram. A useful practice session is one where you can reliably identify your own interact, movement and equipment controls before you risk valuable gear.
