Choose the mode that matches your goal

Career follows FEN, the Fauna and Ecosystems Network. Franchise connects a network of zoos and Wildlife Reserves with animal trading between players. Sandbox is the creative mode. These are the announced modes; this guide does not claim a particular objective order or starting balance.

For learning: start with a focused objective

GetCheatBeacon recommends Career if you prefer direction. Read the current objective before building and tackle one requirement at a time. Keep a short note of what you changed and whether the objective or animal condition improved. That makes it easier to learn from the result.

Avoid building several large projects at once during a learning session. A compact project is easier to inspect and revise when you do not yet know which part of the design needs attention.

For creativity: define a small project first

If your main goal is an attractive build, try a single habitat or entrance in Sandbox before planning an entire zoo. Decide on a visual theme and a rough guest route, then add detail after the basic layout works for your intended design.

Save useful versions of a build where the game permits it. Comparing an earlier layout with a revised one can help you identify whether extra decoration improved clarity or merely made the space busier.

For Franchise: separate your zoo plan from trading

Think about the kind of zoo you want before choosing animals through the trading system. Trading between players is not evidence of simultaneous cooperative construction: the Steam feature list identifies the game as single-player.

Check the game’s current mode screen for connectivity requirements and restrictions. Do not assume a mode shares every setting or progression rule with the others. Exact unlocks, economy values and online rules need verification in the released game.

Community building tools

The official store describes Frontier Workshop blueprint downloads and subscriptions across platforms. Workshop sharing and animal trading are separate from building a zoo together in real time. The PS5 listing identifies one player and optional online play.

For a first blueprint, compare its footprint with the space available before placing it. Check animal and guest requirements after placement rather than assuming a community design is appropriate for every species.
