Start with the new resident
You play as a newly created resident of Sesame Street. Outright Games describes a story about helping the neighborhood prepare a Big Block Party, rather than a combat game or a score-chasing campaign. Character and home customization give the player a place in that neighborhood.
For a first session, let the player choose a look, move around and complete one nearby task before trying to see every activity. Following one clear objective is an easier introduction than alternating between several destinations. This is a suggested learning routine, not a required mission order.
Teach one action at a time
The publisher confirms a deliberately approachable control scheme, but it does not publish a complete platform-by-platform button table on its product page. The linked controls section separates the limited reported bindings from official game information. Use the prompt shown on your own platform for each interaction.
A helpful approach is to let the child handle movement while an adult explains the next prompt, then hand over more of the interaction as confidence grows. Avoid doing every task for them; cooking, photography and farming are opportunities to practice recognizing instructions and working through a small sequence.
Choose the right session
The game supports solo play and two-player local co-op. A second local player can join the shared experience; this should not be confused with online co-op or cross-platform matchmaking. The verified release platforms are Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
