You cannot create emergency building cover

Epic defines Zero Build as Battle Royale without building and with a recharging Overshield. The mode therefore rewards decisions about existing terrain and structures. Check the rules for the particular playlist; an older event's movement item is not proof that it is in today's loot pool.

Choose the next cover before leaving this one

GetCheatBeacon recommends identifying a rock, ridge, building edge or other useful position before crossing. Ask how many directions can see you during the move. A direct route that looks short on the map can be difficult to cross if an opponent already controls the sightline.

Use a pause to reassess the fight

The recharging Overshield supports disengaging behind cover, but it is not a substitute for healing or an escape route. If the exchange is unfavourable, move to a position where you can assess your resources rather than continuously peeking the same angle.

Push when the squad can support it

  1. Identify which opponent or position you intend to contest.
  2. Check whether teammates can see or reach the fight.
  3. Decide where you will stop after advancing.
  4. Avoid chasing beyond support simply because an opponent is moving away.

Height must come with an exit

A raised position can improve visibility, but a narrow perch can become a trap if the circle shifts. Compare the view with the route off it. If you must cross open ground later, move while you still have choices rather than waiting for the storm to remove them.

Practise one habit

For several matches, make every crossing deliberate: name the destination cover first, then move. After a death, identify the unprotected part of the route. This exercise develops positioning without prescribing a fixed sensitivity or an unsupported current weapon ranking.
