Candy Crush Moves Guide: Objectives, Cascades & Last-Turn Decisions

Make Each Move Address a Visible Need

Before swapping candies, read which targets remain and locate them on the board. GetCheatBeacon recommends comparing a direct objective move with a setup move. A direct move removes a needed target now; a setup move should create a clear opportunity rather than merely rearranging an unrelated section.

Understand what a cascade can do

King describes cascades as further matches created by falling candies after the initial match. They can advance goals and help required pieces drop. Matching lower on the board can give the candies above more opportunities to cascade. That is an opportunity, not a promise that the next random drop will produce the exact candy you want.

Use a short decision order

  1. Look for a move that directly completes a remaining target.
  2. Check whether a special-candy setup reaches a target that ordinary matches cannot easily reach.
  3. Compare a lower-board match with any important combination it would disrupt.
  4. Wait for the resulting board to settle before planning the next swap.

The order is editorial advice, not an algorithm that guarantees every level. A lower match is not automatically correct when a useful combination is already available elsewhere.

When only a few moves remain

Count the visible targets you can realistically affect. Do not spend a move setting up a combination that requires more subsequent swaps than remain. If a booster is available, identify the exact missing action it would solve before deciding whether to use it.

Review the first wasted move

After a failed attempt, remember the earliest choice that did nothing for the goal or broke a useful setup. That is more actionable than remembering only the final unlucky drop. A replay with a different board may require a different route, so carry over the decision habit rather than a rigid sequence.

See blocker priorities and special-candy creation for the mechanics behind those choices.
