Separate raid risk from stash storage
The community-maintained Tarkov Wiki distinguishes the out-of-raid stash from equipment carried into a raid, where most ordinary carried gear is at risk. Choose the loadout with that consequence in mind rather than carrying important reserves without a purpose.
Check the equipment before entering
Inspect the weapon, intended ammunition and recovery supplies in the current client. Know where each usable item is carried. A familiar-looking weapon is not a substitute for confirming that the loadout is ready to perform the action you expect.
Prepare access to recovery items
The wiki documents hotbar use for suitable items in pockets or the tactical rig. Set up the access you intend to rely on before a fight. Do not assume an item buried elsewhere in the inventory has the same immediate availability.
Keep cover and a retreat direction
Before committing to a shot, identify where you can move if another opponent responds. After contact, reassess the route instead of chasing simply because you hit the first target. A fight that blocks your exit can cost more than the loot it might produce.
Review the avoidable commitment
After a failed raid, separate loadout preparation, exposure and route decisions from the final exchange. The linked detailed reference is community-maintained, not a publisher damage table. This guide does not invent medical treatment sequences, ammunition penetration thresholds or guaranteed safe extraction routes.
