WOODS TARKOV MAP GUIDE Woods can be difficult for new players because large areas of forest and open terrain can look similar. Learning a few major landmarks first makes navigation much easier. START WITH LANDMARKS Instead of trying to memorize every tree line, learn major features that help you orient yourself. Once you identify one major landmark, connect nearby roads, terrain, and extracts to it. EXTRACTS Know your possible extracts before committing to a long route. Because Woods covers a large area, waiting until the end of the raid to think about extraction can create unnecessary risk. OPEN TERRAIN Crossing open areas can expose you for a long time. Before moving: • Check likely sightlines • Identify cover • Avoid stopping in exposed ground • Plan where you will move next FOREST NAVIGATION Dense trees provide concealment but can also make it easy to lose direction. Use terrain changes, roads, power lines, structures, and other recognizable features to maintain orientation. ROUTE PLANNING A good route should reflect your actual raid objective. Possible goals include: • Quest locations • Loot • Survival • PvP • Scav encounters • Extraction Do not cross the entire map without a reason. LISTEN BEFORE MOVING Woods often gives players time to hear gunfire or movement from a distance. Use sound to decide whether a route is becoming more dangerous.
