Translate the lineup into jobs
Honor of Kings distinguishes positions such as Farm Lane, Clash Lane and Roamer and identifies hero classes including marksman, mage and support. Use the actual hero kit to decide who can start an engagement, who needs protection and who can punish a target already committed.
Keep a useful distance
Stand where your next ability or attack can contribute without walking through the enemy front line just to begin. If an opponent disappears, consider which approach threatens your position. Move with teammates who can help rather than treating the nearest ally as automatic protection.
Time the follow-up
Wait until the player starting the engagement has support in range. If you are responsible for damage, do not spend the whole opening repositioning from the opposite side of the map. If you are protecting that player, keep track of the enemy most likely to interrupt them.
Choose a reachable target
An exposed enemy is a better practical target than a distant priority target you cannot safely reach. Do not chase through unfamiliar space after the first success while the rest of the team handles a different fight. Reassess when a key teammate leaves or falls.
Reset before the next commitment
After the exchange, check health, usable abilities and where the surviving opponents can arrive. Decide together whether to advance or leave. Review whether the formation broke before blaming damage alone. Exact hero ranges, cooldowns and balance should come from the current kit descriptions.
