Phasmophobia Team Roles: Search, Test & Share Evidence

Agree on jobs before entering

These are suggested team responsibilities, not selectable character classes. Assign someone to help locate activity, someone to bring complementary evidence equipment and someone to track the evidence the group actually confirms. Combine jobs for smaller groups rather than leaving an essential task unowned.

Learn what your equipment shows

Kinetic Games introduced equipment tiers and a training space for learning evidence tools in the Ascension update. Read the description of the tier you brought. A teammate familiar with another tier may need a different placement or observation routine.

Make the handoff specific

When you find activity, call the room and what happened, not only that you found the ghost. Tell the next player which tool has already been used and what still needs testing. That avoids several people repeating the same test while other evidence goes unchecked.

Separate evidence from a search lead

An unusual sound or cold-looking area can help decide where to investigate without identifying the ghost. The person tracking the journal should ask what the equipment actually showed before recording a confirmed result.

Share the next safe action

Agree whether the group is bringing another tool, checking an uncertain result or leaving to reassess. Do not leave one player inside because everyone assumed someone else was helping. Review an unsuccessful contract by asking which handoff failed rather than assigning blame to a supposed permanent support role.
