Rainbow Six Siege Operator Guide: Round Jobs, Utility & Team Coverage
Choose an Operator for the round plan rather than only the weapon. The useful pick is one whose gadget helps create, defend or deny the route the team intends to use.
Identify the missing job
Ubisoft's Operator directory groups options by specialties such as Intel, Support, Map Control, Anti-Gadget and Breach. Use the current directory and in-game gadget description to find a tool for the task instead of assuming every attacker or defender solves the same problem.
Plan the utility order
Ask what must happen first. An opening tool may need opposing utility cleared; information may be needed before a player can act safely. Coordinate those dependencies before spending the gadget rather than discovering afterward that the route is still blocked.
Keep information actionable
Call the threat and the intended response. Information helps when a teammate can use it, while repeated uncertain calls can pull the whole squad away from the objective. Distinguish a current sighting from a position the opponent occupied earlier.
Check the defense as a system
On defense, look at the approaches and objective area together. Avoid duplicating one task while leaving a critical entrance unaddressed. Keep a plan for how the setup changes after a gadget is removed or a wall is opened.
Build a small practical pool
- Learn a familiar Operator for a common squad job.
- Practice the gadget interaction and safe placement.
- Add an alternative for the same job.
- Review the current rules and balance before relying on an old setup.
This is a role-selection guide, not a current universal tier list. Exact loadouts, gadget quantities and mode restrictions should be checked on the selected Operator in the active version.
