Understand online crossplay, the invitation settings and how Switch 2 GameShare differs from an original Switch release.
Split Fiction Crossplay Guide: PC, Consoles & Switch 2 GameShare
Choose online crossplay or local play
Split Fiction supports cross-platform co-op, including Friend’s Pass. EA’s current Switch 2 announcement includes PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2. Cross-platform play requires an EA Account.
Check invitations on PC, PlayStation and Xbox
EA Help directs players to the in-game friends list or EA Friends List. Its cross-play invitation setting is under Options > Privacy Settings. Account and platform privacy settings can affect invitations, including those involving child accounts.
GetCheatBeacon recommends confirming both players’ account names before sending another invite. A platform nickname and an EA friend identity can be different pieces of information. Read the exact prompt instead of assuming the invitation reached the account you intended.
What GameShare changes on Nintendo systems
EA confirms that a Switch 2 owner can share Split Fiction locally with another Switch 2 or an original Switch. An original Switch receives the game through that GameShare session; it is not a standalone original-Switch version. Switch 2 also supports Friend’s Pass and online crossplay.
Use the right troubleshooting path
- For online invitations, inspect account links, friend identity and cross-play settings.
- For local GameShare, inspect the Switch 2 sharing session and receiving system.
- For a same-screen session, check the local controller setup.
GetCheatBeacon advice: write down which of these modes you are trying to use. Instructions for local GameShare do not explain a failed EA online invitation, and purchasing another copy is not a diagnosis.
Check requirements before a planned session
Install the appropriate game or pass and review the official requirements before your partner joins. Keep subscription, account and connectivity checks separate. If the session fails, record the exact message and which player saw it so a support request identifies the actual failing step.
