Boltgun 2 Release Date, Demo and PC Setup Guide
Release and demo
Steam lists October 14, 2026 and offers a Boltgun 2 demo. The full game and demo should be treated as separate applications when checking installation and purchase status. Demo performance does not guarantee identical performance across the full campaign.
Published PC requirements
The Steam minimum lists Windows 10 64-bit, 8 GB RAM, DirectX 12 and 13 GB storage, with an i5-8600K or Ryzen 5 2600 and GTX 980, Radeon R9 Fury or Arc A580. Its recommended tier lists Windows 11, i7-7700K or Ryzen 5 1500X, and GTX 1650 or RX 570.
Those recommended CPU examples are older models than the minimum examples. They are reported as published, not corrected into an invented specification. Check the current store page if your system falls between tiers; do not infer a simple model-number ranking from that unusual list.
Make a repeatable demo check
GetCheatBeacon recommends checking the options menu, selecting a comfortable resolution and playing the same short section when comparing settings. Change one graphics option at a time if you are trying to identify what affects performance.
Judge both responsiveness and readability. A setting that makes enemies or navigation harder to see may not suit you even if it reduces visual complexity. We have not benchmarked a universal best-settings preset.
Check controls before advanced actions
Review the bindings for movement, melee and throwing actions. If you remap them, make sure you can comfortably combine the actions your chosen character uses. Use the in-game control prompts rather than copying button names from another platform.
Before purchasing a bundle, check whether it contains the first Boltgun as well as the sequel and whether you already own one of the games. Compare current checkout contents instead of assuming every package includes the same items.
Official requirement discrepancy
The developer FAQ gives a different PC specification from Steam: DirectX 11 and 5 GB storage instead of Steam’s DirectX 12 and 13 GB, with different CPU and GPU examples. Neither page explains the difference. This guide identifies Steam’s requirements as the Steam listing rather than presenting both sets as one settled specification. Recheck your intended store before purchasing.
Platforms, demo and physical editions
Auroch Digital confirms PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S for October 14, with Nintendo Switch 2 planned later. No exact Switch 2 launch date is provided in the FAQ. It describes the demo as Steam-exclusive and the game as digital-only, with no physical version currently planned.
