Two characters, different approaches

Boltgun 2 offers Malum Caedo and Nyra Veyrath. The lead designer describes Nyra as a more agile fighter, with her own weapons and mobility actions. Choose based on the playstyle you enjoy rather than an unverified strongest-character ranking.

Nyra’s Fervent Slide and Leap

The developer’s sequence is: slide, then press jump during the slide to perform a Leap. Holding jump can slow time. Check your platform’s actual bindings for the slide and jump actions; this guide uses action names because button assignments may differ.

GetCheatBeacon recommends practising the sequence somewhere safe before adding shots. First make the slide-to-jump transition consistent. Then try observing the fight during the slow-time action. This practice order is our recommendation, not a required combo.

Melta Bomb actions

The designer says holding the throw action slows time while priming the bomb. Pressing it again after throwing can detonate the bomb early; shooting it in flight is another described option.

Practise a simple throw first, then deliberate early detonation. Add the midair shot only after the basic timing feels predictable. Do not assume a listed technique will have the same damage outcome against every enemy.

Power Sword actions

Holding melee performs a forward thrust. The developer also describes this as useful for movement. Read the action’s behaviour in your build before using it near a ledge or in a crowded encounter.

When learning a character, change one technique at a time and notice whether you can recover to a safe position. This page does not claim exact damage, cooldowns, invulnerability or a complete arsenal. Those details require verified in-game evidence.

Malum’s confirmed equipment and character voices

The developer’s character reveal identifies Malum’s Chainsword and Nyra’s Bolt Pistol, Power Sword and flame-focused weapons, including the Heavy Flamer. They are examples of distinct kits, not an exhaustive arsenal. The developer FAQ names Rahul Kohli as Malum’s voice and Alanah Pearce as Nyra’s.
