Explore with a return route in mind
When entering a new area, note the last safe place, locked passages and landmarks that distinguish otherwise similar rooms. Do not assume every visible ledge is reachable with your current abilities. If a jump repeatedly seems impossible, mark the location and try a different route. A new movement ability can change an older area, so leaving a branch for later is normal exploration rather than a failed attempt.
Balance discovery and risk
Check your health and resources before continuing beyond an unfamiliar exit. If several rooms have gone badly, returning to recover and spend resources can be more valuable than pressing on simply because the next doorway is close. Learn a hazardous room’s safe positions before trying to move through it quickly. Combining platforming, an unfamiliar enemy and a rushed jump often causes an avoidable chain of mistakes.
Use information before outside spoilers
Read item descriptions, dialogue and task instructions. They can give a direction or explain why an interaction is unavailable. Keep a brief note of the place and the obstacle rather than trying to memorize the entire map. If you consult a guide, search for the exact obstacle or ability you need; an unrestricted walkthrough can reveal later regions and encounters well beyond your immediate problem.
Prepare for the next attempt
Before leaving a safe location, review the tools you have equipped and whether your current plan needs them. Try a new option in a familiar room before relying on it at a difficult boss. After a defeat, decide whether you want to recover progress, practice an encounter or explore elsewhere. Giving the next attempt a clear purpose makes a detour productive and reduces the temptation to repeat the same unsuccessful approach without changing anything.
