Silksong Sea of Sorrow: confirmed expansion information
Separate Team Cherry’s announcement from speculative dates and walkthroughs for unreleased content.
What the developer confirmed
Team Cherry announced Sea of Sorrow as a free Silksong expansion planned for 2026. The announcement describes additional areas, bosses and tools with a nautical direction. That establishes the expansion’s existence and intended scope, but it does not provide a complete map, an exact unlock route or a finished list of equipment statistics. Treat claims going beyond the announcement as unconfirmed unless they have a newer official source.
Do not turn a window into a date
A release year is not an exact launch day. Physical-product listings, fan theories and translated social posts can be useful leads, but they do not replace a dated developer announcement. Before planning time off or buying an edition specifically for the expansion, check Team Cherry’s current news and the store listing for your platform. This guide does not invent a countdown or claim the expansion is already installed.
Prepare an existing save sensibly
Keep your game updated and retain the save you want to continue. If a platform offers cloud backups, check that synchronization has completed before changing devices. Do not delete an established save because a speculative guide claims a new file will be mandatory. Wait for official requirements before making irreversible changes. You can use the meantime to revisit optional routes, learn a difficult boss or become comfortable with a different tool setup.
Read platform details separately
An expansion announcement and a physical-edition announcement answer different questions. Check whether additional content is included on the media or delivered as a download, and whether your platform needs a separate update. A general statement that an expansion is free does not establish every region’s download timing or storage requirement.
