Baldur’s Gate 3 Inventory Guide: Sorting, Radials & Useful Supplies
Organize Items Around the Character Who Uses Them
An inventory full of useful items can still fail you if you cannot find the right one during a turn. Start by separating equipment you actively use, supplies for an upcoming task and items you are keeping for later evaluation. Do not sell an unfamiliar quest-related object simply because it resembles ordinary clutter.
Use the interface tools your platform provides
Larian's PS5 interface article documents customizable radial menus for spells, actions and items. Its earlier interface overview also describes category-based equipment searches and action filters, while Patch 2 added inventory rarity filters. Menu layouts differ between controller and mouse/keyboard; use the current labels rather than treating a PS5 trigger instruction as a PC shortcut.
A preparation pass before a difficult area
- Check each character's equipped items instead of looking only at the main character.
- Read the description of a consumable before assigning it a role.
- Make the supplies you intend to use easy to locate in the relevant character's interface.
- Review carry capacity and leave room for the items you expect to collect.
This is GetCheatBeacon's organization routine. It does not assert that every item can be transferred, consumed or equipped without a cost in every situation. Read the action and use restrictions shown on the item when deciding how to employ it.
Avoid collecting without a purpose
When comparing two pieces of equipment, ask which party member benefits and which existing item it would replace. A higher rarity label does not explain every tradeoff by itself. Keep the old item until you understand what the change would remove, especially when your party relies on its effect.
Review unused supplies after combat
If a fight went badly while relevant consumables remained unused, determine whether the problem was lack of opportunity, an unclear description or difficulty finding the item. Improve that specific part of the setup. Buying more items will not fix an interface you never check.
Use the positioning guide to connect preparation with turns, and spell-resource planning to avoid treating every problem as a reason to spend the same limited resource.
