GTA VI Release Date, Preload & Buying Guide
Release and preload dates
Grand Theft Auto VI remains scheduled for November 19, 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Rockstar says eligible digital preorders can begin preloading on November 12 at local midnight. A preorder or completed preload does not make the game playable before its release.
Standard or Ultimate?
Standard includes the game. Ultimate adds a collection of named items and story-linked extras. Standard owners can purchase the Ultimate Upgrade separately; boxed-copy owners must redeem their game code first. See the dedicated edition guide for the complete published list of additions.
Boxed copies contain a code, not a disc
The official support article says the physical Standard version contains a digital download code. Physical availability is scheduled to begin November 12 to support preload, and no physical Ultimate version is listed. Check shipping or pickup timing with your retailer rather than treating November 12 availability as a guaranteed delivery date.
Preorder and digital offers
The Vintage Vice City Pack is identified for qualifying preorders. Rockstar lists that pack and a month of GTA+ for qualifying digital purchases before November 20. A platform-store digital promotion should not be assumed to accompany an Amazon boxed code.
Account region and subscription terms
Rockstar says North American PlayStation codes require a U.S. or Canadian PlayStation account, while Xbox codes are not region-locked. Check the retailer's exact territory and platform before paying. PlayStation's digital GTA+ offer requires a separate claim and continues as a paid subscription unless canceled; its current claim deadline is March 31, 2027.
