Brawl Stars Ranked Guide: Requirements, Matchmaking & Pro Pass
How to unlock Ranked
Ranked unlocks at 1,000 account Trophies. Supercell’s current introduction requires a Brawler at Power Level 9 or higher and offers seasonal free maxed Brawlers in the selection screen. Enter Ranked from Events; you can queue alone, as a duo, or as a trio. Check the current selection screen for any additional eligibility restrictions before spending upgrade resources.
Maps and modes are randomized. Build a selection you can use on different maps rather than assuming your favourite Brawler suits every match.
Prepare your picks before entering
Choose a few eligible Brawlers whose attacks and equipment you understand. Practise aiming at moving opponents, retreating behind cover and using your Super around an objective. Being comfortable with the controls gives you more attention for positioning.
Open the Brawl Stars roster to compare kits. Read the base ability separately from an optional Buffie; the upgrade’s extra effect should not be assumed on an unequipped build. Use the equipment guide to plan spending.
Make the map your first decision
This is GetCheatBeacon’s practical approach, not a Supercell tier list:
- On an open lane, ask whether your pick can influence fights without crossing exposed ground.
- Around walls, consider whether your attacks can reach the space that matters.
- Before choosing another close-range attacker, check who will pressure opponents at a distance.
- Have an alternative ready if your intended pick is unavailable.
A balanced-looking team still needs a plan. Decide who contests the middle, who holds a side and who can respond to a flank. Avoid treating a particular role as a permanent job regardless of the objective.
Win the objective, not just the fight
In Gem Grab, a successful elimination can still be a losing decision if it exposes your gem carrier. Read the Gem Grab guide for carrier protection and retreat timing. For general lane responsibilities, use the team-composition guide.
Before a push, check whether teammates are close enough to contribute. Spending your ammunition while isolated can leave the team unable to contest the next important moment. When a fight is lost, take a safe route back and reconnect with teammates instead of immediately repeating the same approach.
How Ranked matchmaking works
Supercell bases matchmaking on Rank Score. For duos, the reference score is the highest-ranked teammate’s score plus 200; for trios it is that score plus 500. Duos match other duos, and trios match other trios. Team eligibility also depends on rank differences. Check the official matchmaking page and the in-game party screen when a friend cannot join.
These rules do not guarantee a win or mean that forming a party makes opponents easier. Judge a team session by how consistently you coordinate, not by an expectation of favourable matchmaking.
Ranked rewards and Pro Pass XP
Ranked wins, new ranks and participation in official esports livestreams can provide Pro Pass XP. Supercell currently lists a weekly battle-earned limit of 1,000 XP, increased to 2,000 with the paid Pro Pass. Ranked seasons last one month; a Pro Pass season spans four Ranked seasons. Check the current reward track for specific items.
A repeatable improvement routine
Play a short focused session. After a loss, identify one decision you control: a poor opening lane, unnecessary exposure, an unsupported push or a Super used without a clear purpose. Pick one correction for the next match. This is a practice framework, not a promise of a particular rank or win rate.
