Hades II: beginner runs and permanent progression
Use early nights to learn enemy timing and bring back resources, rather than judging every attempt only by its final boss.
Give the next run a purpose
Choose one thing to practice before leaving the Crossroads: using Cast to make space, recognizing a dangerous enemy attack or trying a different weapon. A shorter attempt can still teach you something and bring back useful resources. Read new dialogue and inspect newly available upgrades between nights; progression is spread across combat, relationships and the hub rather than appearing in a single level-up screen.
Separate temporary and permanent power
Boons shape the current attempt, while other resources support lasting upgrades and unlocks. Before spending at the hub, read exactly what an upgrade changes and what else uses that material. Favor an improvement that addresses your actual difficulty: surviving long enough to learn a boss can be more useful than choosing a narrow offensive option you cannot reliably activate.
Gather without losing the fight
Check what your equipped gathering option can collect, then keep an eye out for the matching opportunities during the run. Do not stand in a hazard to collect something while enemies are still active. After clearing a room, inspect exits and available interactions before moving on. When choosing a reward, consider the condition of the current run and the resource goal you set at the start instead of automatically selecting the rarest-looking symbol.
Make difficulty serve learning
If repeated failure is preventing you from enjoying or understanding the combat, review the game’s accessibility and God Mode options. An optional assistance setting is a legitimate way to continue learning; it should not be mislabeled as a secret cheat code. Keep experimenting with timing and positioning even when using assistance. After a failed attempt, identify the encounter that consumed most of your health and change one habit or upgrade before the next night.
