Two different storage problems

Pocket space controls what you carry. Nintendo’s beginner guide recommends redeeming the Pocket Organization Guide with Nook Miles. Home storage grows with house expansion, as described in its follow-up guide. Improving one does not replace planning for the other.

A practical sorting routine

  1. Before leaving home, decide whether the trip is for fishing, gathering materials or decorating. Carry the tools for that job.
  2. Choose a small reserve of materials for your next DIY project. Keep unrelated decorations out of your working inventory.
  3. Review new museum finds before selling a mixed collection. Put items you intend to donate in a separate planning list.
  4. After returning, sort items into keep, use next and sell. Compare duplicate furnishings before clearing them out.

What to keep

Our suggested priorities are materials for your next recipe, items you cannot easily replace, and furnishings assigned to a specific room or outdoor project. A “maybe someday” pile should get a regular review: write down the project that justifies keeping each bulky category.

When to expand your house

If your inventory repeatedly fills with items you genuinely use, compare the next home upgrade with your other planned Bell expenses. Check the current options offered by Tom Nook in your game. This guide does not promise one universal capacity or quote an upgrade price without checking your progression and installed version.

Before a resource trip

Reserve empty pockets before departure. If you are visiting another island, prioritize what you came to collect rather than bringing home every duplicate decoration. A short checklist is faster than repeatedly returning to decide what to discard.
