The Sims 4 Cheat Console Guide: PC, Mac, PlayStation & Xbox Controls
Open the cheat console
| Platform | Shortcut |
|---|---|
| PC or Mac | Control + Shift + C |
| PlayStation | L1 + L2 + R1 + R2 together |
| Xbox | LB + LT + RB + RT together |
EA’s PC/Mac instructions use Control. After typing a command on keyboard, press Enter. On consoles, the same four shoulder buttons close the bar.
Enable interaction cheats when needed
EA’s console guide uses testingcheats on. Its general FAQ also documents testingcheats true. Console testingcheats disables achievements or trophies for the current save; it does not affect other saves. Consider a separate save before enabling it.
Controller equivalent of Shift-click
EA specifies Circle held while pressing X on PlayStation, or B held while pressing A on Xbox, for Shift-click interactions.
If the console will not open
- Load into the game rather than typing on the launcher or storefront.
- Press the complete shortcut together.
- Confirm that you are using the Control key on Mac.
- Release the keys and check for the text bar before typing.
- If another application intercepts the shortcut, review that application’s key binding.
Those troubleshooting steps are our suggestions. Avoid changing several settings at once: first establish whether the input bar opens, then test the command you need.
If a command does nothing
Distinguish a failed shortcut from an unsubmitted command. Check spelling, the current game mode and whether the command needs testingcheats. Use the focused guide for the intended action; money, building and Sim interactions are different workflows.
