Cyberpunk 2077 Clampdown: Quest Unlock & King's Gear
Announcement-stage guide, checked October 21, 2026. Check the Update 2.5 rollout overview and your installed game version before using the new features.
How is Clampdown unlocked?
CDPR specifies three checks: finish The Heist, complete two gigs for Wakako, then await her message. Clampdown precedes the Edgerunners 2 story and includes a five-piece King-inspired gear set.
Check the correct playthrough
Review the quest journal on the character you intend to use. Progress on another save is not evidence that this save has completed the prerequisites. Start by checking the named story mission, then review your Wakako work before expecting a message.
Once the installed version offers the quest, follow the game's message and journal prompts. The announcement does not give a guaranteed message-delay timer, so repeatedly reloading a save after an invented number of minutes is not a documented solution.
A preparation checklist
- Confirm the installed update and edition.
- Load the playthrough you want to continue.
- Review completion of the story prerequisite.
- Check your Wakako gig history on that playthrough.
- Read incoming messages and use the journal when the quest becomes available.
Keep the reward and combat claims separate
The announced gear gives this quest a clear appearance reward to look for. Inspect each item when you obtain it and use the information the game displays. Do not infer a set bonus or a new ability merely from a character-inspired look.
If your main goal is the outfit, keep track of the items actually received on the save you are using. If you care more about the story, avoid guides that reveal unannounced plot outcomes while you are only checking whether the quest should be available.
If the quest is not appearing
Separate rollout problems from progression checks. A storefront still on an earlier version cannot be tested against a new-content trigger. On an updated installation, recheck the named prerequisites and the current message/journal state. This page records the publisher's unlock conditions rather than promising that an undocumented workaround will force the quest to start.
