Update 2.5: review a dual-wield build

Cyberpunk 2077 Build Guide: Attributes, Perks, Weapons & Cyberware
Cyberpunk 2077's Update 2.0 rebuilt character progression around fewer but more meaningful Perks. A strong build now starts with a clear playstyle and connects Attributes, Perks, weapons and cyberware around that purpose.
The Five Main Attributes
Cyberpunk 2077 uses five main Attributes:
- Body
- Reflexes
- Intelligence
- Technical Ability
- Cool
Body
Body supports physical power and survivability.
The official Build Planner associates Body with:
- Shotguns.
- Light Machine Guns.
- Blunt weapons.
- Health and physical strength.
Reflexes
Reflexes supports mobility and several fast weapon styles.
CD PROJEKT RED's official build examples use Reflexes for:
- Blades.
- Assault Rifles.
- SMGs.
- Dash and advanced movement.
Intelligence
Intelligence is the core Netrunner Attribute.
It supports:
- Quickhacks.
- Cyberdeck-focused play.
- Smart Weapons.
- RAM-related systems.
Technical Ability
Technical Ability is strongly connected to cyberware and tech-oriented systems.
Official CD PROJEKT RED builds use Technical Ability to expand cyberware potential and support heavily augmented characters.
Cool
Cool supports precision-oriented and stealth-focused playstyles.
It is especially relevant when building around controlled shots, stealth or other playstyles that depend on deliberate positioning.
Pick a Primary Playstyle
Do not build around five different combat plans at once.
Start with one identity such as:
- Netrunner.
- Blade-focused mobility build.
- Shotgun or blunt Solo.
- Precision stealth build.
- Assault Rifle or SMG build.
Perks Are More Meaningful After Update 2.0
CD PROJEKT RED redesigned the perk trees so individual Perks have larger gameplay impact.
Instead of chasing many tiny percentage bonuses, look for abilities that change how the build actually plays.
Perk Points Can Be Refunded Individually
Update 2.0 allows individual Perks to be refunded outside combat.
This makes experimentation easier.
If a Perk does not support your playstyle, you can adjust the tree without completely rebuilding the character.
Attribute Redistribution Is More Limited
CD PROJEKT RED provided a one-time Attribute redistribution option after the Update 2.0 overhaul.
Because Attributes are more consequential, plan them more carefully than ordinary Perk points.
Weapon Synergy
Pick weapons that match the Attribute tree you are already investing in.
A coherent build gains more from:
- Relevant weapon Perks.
- Matching cyberware.
- Skills that support the same combat loop.
than from carrying several unrelated weapon types with no supporting progression.
Cyberware Is Part of the Build
Update 2.0 moved armor primarily onto cyberware and introduced the Cyberware Capacity system.
This means cyberware is not just optional equipment. It is part of your core build planning.
Cyberware Capacity
Your character can equip only a limited amount of cyberware according to Cyberware Capacity.
Capacity increases through progression and can also be influenced by specific systems and Perks.
Build Around Your Operating System
Your operating-system choice can strongly shape gameplay.
Examples include:
- Cyberdeck-based Netrunning.
- Sandevistan-focused time-dilation combat.
- Other combat-oriented operating systems.
Choose the operating system that reinforces your build rather than treating it as an isolated slot.
Skills
Update 2.0 consolidated progression into five Skills:
- Headhunter
- Netrunner
- Shinobi
- Solo
- Engineer
These Skills progress through related gameplay and provide passive benefits as they advance.
Example: Blade/Mobility Build
CD PROJEKT RED's official Bullet-Time Ninja build centers on Reflexes and Technical Ability.
Its core idea is:
- Mobility through Reflexes.
- Blade-focused perks.
- Cyberware capacity through Technical Ability.
- Sandevistan synergy.
Example: Netrunner Build
The official Hack-&-Slash Netrunner build centers on Intelligence and Netrunner systems, with additional synergy from smart weapons and cyberware.
Example: Solo Build
The official Savage Slugger Solo build emphasizes Body and Technical Ability, combining blunt weapons, survivability and cyberware.
Do Not Chase Every Iconic Weapon
Iconic weapons can be powerful, but a weapon is most useful when it fits the build you already have.
Do not rebuild your entire character every time you find a new item.
Build Progression Routine
- Choose one combat style.
- Select the Attribute most important to that style.
- Pick Perks that change or improve the core gameplay loop.
- Equip weapons that benefit from those choices.
- Add cyberware that supports the same role.
- Refund individual Perks when testing alternatives.
- Expand into a secondary Attribute only after the primary build is functional.
Common Build Mistakes
- Spreading Attributes evenly without a purpose.
- Using weapons unsupported by your Perks.
- Ignoring Cyberware Capacity.
- Choosing cyberware for raw numbers instead of synergy.
- Trying to run several incompatible playstyles simultaneously.
Bottom Line
A strong Cyberpunk 2077 build is a connected system. Choose an Attribute focus, pick Perks that reinforce the playstyle, use matching weapons and fill your Cyberware Capacity with implants that improve the same combat loop. The more coherent the build, the less you need to rely on raw level advantage.
