Resident Evil Requiem: Beginner Guide, Platforms & Camera Options

Two protagonists, different survival decisions

Resident Evil Requiem follows FBI analyst Grace Ashcroft and returning agent Leon S. Kennedy. Their chapters mix investigation, survival and action. Grace has tighter supplies; Leon has a broader combat toolkit. Your goal in a room should guide your decision to fight, move around an enemy or return later.

Available platforms

The game launched February 27, 2026 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC and Nintendo Switch 2. PC editions include Steam and Epic Games Store. Nintendo Switch 2 is a separate platform from the original Switch: check the exact listing before buying. The platform release does not imply that saves can move between consoles.

First or third person?

Both protagonists support first- and third-person perspectives. Try each with a short, familiar route before deciding. Our suggestion is to judge comfort, visibility and aiming separately: the camera that feels immersive during exploration may not be the one you prefer during combat. Changing perspective does not turn Grace into Leon or replace their different resources.

Before your first session

  1. Install the latest game update.
  2. Check which edition and optional content you already own.
  3. Choose camera settings for each character.
  4. Practice map, inventory, healing and weapon selection in a quiet area.
  5. Confirm your platform's cloud-save settings before switching devices.

A demo is listed on PlayStation Store, and Capcom has also announced a Steam demo. Use the listing for your own platform to check availability. Treat it as a way to evaluate comfort and controls; do not assume demo progress transfers to the main game unless the listing explicitly says so.
