What mod support is announced?
Update 2.5 introduces a mod.io-powered browser for a selection of community mods inside the game. CDPR lists PC, Mac, PS5/PS5 Pro, Xbox Series X|S and Switch 2, with more mods intended over time. The feature announcement does not make every existing PC mod available on every console.
Read the console save restriction first
Console modded saves cannot earn achievements or trophies. The Load Game menu will identify modded saves with an icon. Decide whether earning achievements on that playthrough matters before experimenting.
Plan a separate experiment
A sensible approach is to keep one clearly identifiable playthrough for ordinary progression and another for trying mods. Before loading, check which save belongs to which playthrough and whether it is marked as modded. Do not assume that deleting a mod restores achievement eligibility; the announcement does not establish such a recovery process.
When the feature reaches your edition, use the catalog actually shown by the game. Read each listing's description and any requirements it presents. Choose an addition because you understand what it changes, rather than because it appears in an unrelated PC tutorial.
Check changes one at a time
- Confirm Update 2.5 is installed on the edition you use.
- Identify the save you intend to experiment with.
- Review the mod's description and the game's confirmation screens.
- Try a small change and check that the playthrough loads and behaves as expected.
- Keep notes on the changes before combining several mods.
This is an installation-planning checklist, not a claim that a particular mod combination has been tested. Use the menus and instructions present in the released game rather than guessed submenu names.
Mods and game features are different
Before looking for a mod to change a camera, outfit or combat style, check the update overview. Some requests may already be addressed by the base update. This also makes it easier to decide whether accepting the console save restriction is worthwhile for your goal.
